Notes, links, and lines

It was good to see the Wings finally assert themselves last night and get a win over a Predators team which won't go away. They made it pretty decisive, which was encouraging since we may play Nashville in the first round of the playoffs. Jason Woolley has really come on this season. He had a quiet year last year after coming to the Wings when Fischer went down but has been one of the Wings' best defensemen all year. His two goals last night were great and he has been playing very well overall. Kris Draper has been absolutely amazing this year. I hardly even recognize him. He has shown so much poise with the puck and has scored some goals I'd only expect a real goal scorer to score. His first goal last night was just one example. He's still invaluable defensively and should finally be considered for the Selke Trophy this year. I really hope Brett Hull scores a goal soon because he has to get out of this phase where he passes all the time. I know it's standard Brett Hull in-a-slump behavior but come on, Brett, you gotta shoot every once and a while. For a more in depth look at the game last night, see Brian's game review, the Freep's, the News', ESPN's, and the box score.
