The Wings tied the Blue Jackets and kept themselves in the race for the Western Conference title, though they lost their chance to win the President's Trophy. Not the Wings best game at all. Manny didn't look very sharp most of the game either, though he kept them in it towards the end and made a comeback possible. The Wings were down 3-0 before Draper and Shanahan scored to make it 3-2 in the 2nd. The Wings then went down 4-2 and made it 4-3 when Brett Hull scored. The Jackets scored again to make it 5-3. Then Maltby, with a great individual effort, scored an end-to-end goal to bring the Wings within one. The Wings pulled Manny and the Jackets scored again, only it was called back because Shanahan had taken the puck to his face and was laying on the ice. The CBJ coach was really mad but the goal did not count. Soon after, Pavel Datsyuk scored off a pass from Hull and tied it up with about 12 seconds left. The Wings had a few chances to put it away in OT but it ended in a tie. Pavel's line played well the whole game but the whole team looked tired. | full recap | boxscore | play-by-play
