12/30 Injury Update

-- Jason Woolley broke his toe during Friday's game against the Wild and will not play against the Thrashers on Wednesday night. The Wings are treating the injury as day-to-day and say he could be back by the weekend. Woolley did not play in the loss to Chicago on Sunday. -- Darren McCarty is scheduled to skate today before practice, according to Dave Lewis. He has been out since November 8th with bulging disks in his back. He "expressed optimism Saturday that he could return this week. -- Chris Chelios will not return Wednesday after all. He says he did not feel strong skating over the weekend and so will most likely return either on Friday when the Wings play in Carolina or Saturday when the Ducks come to town. -- Dominik Hasek probably will be out for at least another two weeks. He has only played 14 of 39 games this season. I think it's time for the Wings to reconsider their goalie plan. Freep | News
