The Wings out shot Toronto 41 to 24 but couldn't slip more than one past Ed Belfour in their 8th preseason game. The Wings played much better than they have recently and are closer to regular season form than before. Dave Lewis said "I saw us thinking as units, defending, we were all on the same page attacking. We got better as the game went on. There were a lot of good things." Pavel Datsyuk scored off a pass from Brett Hull, after faking out Belfour. The Wings will play the Leafs again tonight in Toronto at 7. The game will be televised but not broadcast on the radio. Tonight's game is the last exhibition game and the real season starts on Thursday at home versus the Kings.
